Rare recording found
Recently found, this recording of the Christopher Brooking Memorial Lecture is now on YouTube.
Performed by the La Trobe University Student Theatre (LUST) in the 1980s, The Christopher Brooking Memorial Lecture was an irreverent, satire of institutional academia that ran for over a decade. A rare 1981 recording of the show was recently uncovered. Following a successful campus revue period starting in 1975, LUST members—including Brooking, Mike Lewis, John Considine, and Rob Wood—drove audience numbers using clever publicity and ticket sales. The mock-solemn "Memorial" title was created as a tongue-in-cheek "act of revenge" against Brooking while he was still active in the group.
